Who we are
Home Deals ("we", "us") provides independent property research and buyer support. Home Deals is a trading name of [COMPANY NAME] Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number [NUMBER], registered office [ADDRESS].
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at hello@home-deals.co.uk or +44 7947 996190.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us through our enquiry form, by email, by telephone or WhatsApp, or when you book a call with us. Depending on what you tell us, this may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your telephone or WhatsApp number
- Details of properties you are considering, including listing links
- Your search requirements and preferred locations
- Your budget
- Whether you are buying with cash or finance, where you tell us
- Whether you are UK-based or buying from overseas, and your country of residence, where you tell us as part of an investment enquiry
- Anything else you choose to include in your message
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to carry out the research or support service you ask us for, and to keep in touch with you about that work.
Our lawful basis is normally performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Where we rely on legitimate interests — for example to keep records of the work we have done — we have considered that this does not override your rights. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence and client records for [RETENTION PERIOD] after our last contact with you, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where we are required to keep records for longer — for example for tax purposes — we keep only what is necessary for that purpose.
Who else processes your information
We use a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Our website host, which serves this site and processes server logs
- Google (Gmail), which delivers and stores our email correspondence
- Calendly, if you book a call with us, which processes your name, email address and booking details
- Any customer relationship management (CRM) system we use to track enquiries
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and does not currently use an analytics provider. If you follow our booking link to Calendly, that is a separate third-party website which sets its own cookies and has its own privacy policy.
If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your information. We may share it where you ask us to introduce you to a third party — for example a solicitor, mortgage broker or property manager — and we will tell you before we do so. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
International transfers
Some of our service providers process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses, together with any additional safeguards required, so that your information receives an equivalent level of protection.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@home-deals.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
